Cobras Announce Coaching Staff for 2009
After interviewing several viable candidates, the Sacramento Cobras have finalized their coaching staff for the 2009 season. Lamar Chaney has been named the first head coach of the upstart Cobras and is looking to harness the talents of both returning and new players and position the team as a contender. The Cobras are starting fresh for 2009 and the coaching staff is the latest addition in the rebuilding process. With the announcement of the coaching staff the team is set to move forward in preparation for the 2009 season.
"Coach Chaney and his staff have made a real difference in the short time they've been on board. Their knowledge of the game and ability to connect with the players has everyone very excited about the coming season. We now have the coaching staff we needed; the feedback from the players has been extremely positive." stated Cobras owner Dan Long

Regarding his new home Chaney said, "The Cobras are very organized and bring a lot of talent to the field. Building from that, adding some fresh faces and taking this team to the next level is the primary goal of the coaching staff."
The Cobras will be tested early as they open the regular season at home against the defending GCFL champions, the Northbay Rattlers. This wouldn't be the first time the Cobras hit the field though. Their first game will be the second part of the NCFL Toys for Tots Bowl Game double header, facing the Central Valley Rams with a 5pm kickoff on December 13th at the Cobras home field Foothill High School.
